Do the Lib Dems have the same problem as English football?

Is the England problem really just a matter of the manager?

I watched bits of the game last night and was just crushed by the lack of passion and commitment form players who are paid an absolute fortune. Contrast that with the determination of the England rugby players who gave their all because to not do so would be a matter of shame.

They need a coach who has real passion and can instill in them a belief. What they do not need is another tactician or ex-footballer.

Maybe the time has come for a manager and a coach together, something like the Rugby had with Woodward.

Politically, you cannot but help see similarities between the English team and the Lib Dems. They do not quite cut it in the top tier and believe that changing their manager will solve all the problems they have. Campbell, Clegg, Huhne and Steve McClaren - dull, featureless men with no passion for change - people who place tactics above belief and vision.

For English football losing might be the best thing to happen - it gives them a chance to wake up and see the problems for what they are. For the Lib Dems you just cannot believe they have understood what their problem is.
