VAT cut has failed, says Cameron

Any idea that the VAT cut has helped the economy climb out of this recession is a long way wide of the mark. David Cameron blasted the silly policy this morning by saying:

I think this will go down in history as one of the most appalling wastes of money in British political history

There may be a lot of shoppers in the stores during the sales but what has attracted them is the lure of massive discounts, not VAT cuts!
