When it comes to climate science most of us are laymen. We don’t know whether global warming is of our own making or part of some wider natural consequences.
But I do know we need to do something about pollution, our environment and securing this country’s energy future. It makes sense for our future prosperity.
We need to gradually incentivise people towards alternative fuel sources and away from ever depleting fossil fuels. This will ensure we lengthen the supply of natural resources.
Investing in alternative energy supplies will also reduce our dependency on Russia, the Middle East and South America – some of the most unstable parts of the world.
It is also clear we need to do something about throwing tonnes and tonnes of our waste into holes in the ground and covering them over with soil – no one believes this can be sustainable. We need to encourage recycling by doing more to financially incentivise those who recycle. Maybe we should offer Council Tax rebates to those who recycle?
