The people of this country are listening to the Conservative Party again. We now have the opportunity to tell Yeovil voters what their Lib Dem MP is really like. We can tell them about the campaigns he starts but fails to deliver on.
· His campaigns to save Post Offices – but yet they all close.
· His campaigns to improve transport to Yeovil – but the Government ignores him on issues such as the A303 upgrade
· His deceptive campaign to introduce Local Income Tax – knowing that it will mean the majority of people in Yeovil paying more, not less.
· His parties campaign to cut income tax knowing that to fund it the Lib Dems would propose defence cuts which would mean job cuts at Westland Agusta.
People in Somerset are fed up with the Lib Dems but they are also fed up with this Government.
Yeovil people are overtaxed, they have had their pensions wrecked by Gordon Brown, and the Lib Dem MP has allowed Brown to starve the area of the billions that Labour has been spending in other parts of the UK. No one in power can be bothered to notice our Lib Dem MP.
Yet, the Lib Dems want to support this Labour Government. Somerset people should know that “a vote for the Lib Dems is a vote for Labour” – Vote Yellow, Get Brown.
As the Conservative candidate I will be pursuing the Lib Dem MP, attacking him for his failings and making the people of Yeovil understand that voting Lib Dem is a vote for keeping Labour in power; financial turmoil, higher taxes, cuts to local services and wrecked pensions.
